Steve E. Snyder III, 65, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on the annual spring predicting rodent day (ground hog day), Thursday, February 2, 2017 in his residence with his family by his side. Steve fought a valiant fight with ALS (Lou has left the building and Steve is at peace).

He was born December 6, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio. He was a graduate of Northwestern. He worked at the Clark County Engineers as a bridge supervisor. Steve was a member of the Urbana Moose # 1215 and was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and trap. Steve was a big Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He was a jokester and always had a smile on his face; he was a problem solver and very charming. Steve loved to spend time going to yard sales, flea markets and open houses. In October 2014, Steve met Stacey Boyer and in January 2015 they were married. This was the happiest time of his life. Most of all he loved his family and adored his kids. As our heart aches for the physical loss of him, we find solace knowing that he is now with God, is at peace, and for that, we are grateful.
Steve is survived by his wife Stacey (Evans) Boyer Snyder; his daughters, Stacie (Steve) Petticrew and Rachel Boyer; his sons, Matt (Crissy) Snyder, Karl Snyder, Kyle Snyder and Wyatt Snyder; his grandchildren, Chase, Tyler and Liza; siblings, Shane E. (Carol) Snyder, Duane M. (June) Snyder Anna M. Snyder, Quirt T. Snyder, Scott A. Snyder, Duke R. Snyder and John (Lynn) Osbourne.

He was preceded in death by parents Steve E. Snyder Jr. and Louise (West) Osbourne; his brother, Stuart A. Snyder and his sister, Tanya Snyder.

A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana Ohio with Chaplin Mark Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m. prior. A celebration gathering will follow starting at 3:00 p.m. in the Urbana Moose Lodge, 632 Mosgrove St., Urbana, Ohio 43078.

The family would like extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Miami Valley Hospice for the wonderful care that Steve received while with them.
