Harold E. Holsinger past through the gates of Heaven on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 2:24 am in Springfield Regional Hospital in the care of Hospice.
Harold leaves behind a loving family including his wife, Shirley (Shepard-Brandyberry) Holsinger, his children including Brenda & Bob Kilgore of Clayton, Steve & Linda Holsinger of Holmer, MI, Sandra J. Powers of Bellbrook and Gary & Jackie of Brookville. He is also survived by Shirley's children, Jr. & Pam Brandyberry, Dennis & Glena Brandyberry, Lori & Gary Raymond, and Sheri & Tim McNutt. Harold will be especially missed by his special friend Laurie McNeely who he helped around her farm.
He will be missed by the numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren.
Harold was proceeded in death by his parents Frank & Hazel (Petry) Holsinger. Harold was the last of his siblings including his brother Lowell, sisters June Shipley, Donna Knose, and stepchildren Bruce & Sandy Brandyberry and their son Mike. He was still in mourning from the recent passing of his niece, Sandy Guyton from Tipp City.
Harold was a mechanic for most of his life & retired from White's Ford.
He was a long-standing member of Grace Baptist Church, where he was part of the pastor's prayer team and also participated in vacation bible school.
Known to many as the "Strawberry Man", where for years he sold strawberries from his van all over town. He loved putting out a garden and then selling his produce at the Urbana Farmers Market where he also shared his love of honey. He was a ribbon winner numerous times at the Champaign County Fair most known for his handmade pies & his exceptional crusts.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church with visitation hours from 10am-12 noon; the service will take place immediately after the visitation at 12:00 noon. The processional to Oak Dale Cemetery will be immediately following the service. Arrangements are being handled by VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 960 Children's Home Rd., Urbana, OH 43078
