Asbell "Brownie" Bean Jr., 79, of Urbana, Ohio returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Arbors at Springfield surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 29, 1938 in Birmingham, Alabama the son of Asbell Brownie and Susie (Smith) Bean Sr. Brownie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Jerusalem 2nd Baptist Church. Brownie enjoyed playing the lottery, visiting the casino as well as harness horse races, swimming and coaching baseball when his children were younger. He liked watching the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, Bonnie, of 57 years. Brownie was always there to help others, he was the "Best" little league baseball coach and umpire. Brownie was a hardworking man, long time employee at Grimes/Honeywell as well as Sohio gas station.

Brownie is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Bean; daughters, Veronica L. Dunn and Aja Q. Bean; sons, Phillip L. (Joanna) Bean Sr., Michael D. (Jamie) Bean and Lance D. Bean; grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Jordan, Brittany Bean, Tracey II "Monte", Jalen Davis, Victoria (Darrell) Freeman II, Michael "Doc"II, Marquis , Matthew, Nicholas Bean and Alex, Allie Roberts; great grandchildren, Adelynn, Ziyah, Malani Davis, Peyton Bean, Zyannia Bean, Darrell III and Apollo Freeman, Phillip III, Kaeleigh and DeMarcus Bean; brother, Canadis Bean; sister, Adline E. Bean- Porter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lloyd S. Bean, Michael Beane, sisters; Piccola Ferguson, Hiawatha Jones, and Susan Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Jerusalem 2nd Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Freeman officiating. Family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place in Dayton National Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
